I just got my m15x back after sending it in to fix the hinge and after getting it back I changed the thermal paste to OCZ Freeze, carefully taking all the precautions and making sure it was all connected up properly.

When I tried running Furmark with Thermofan and Rivatuner to monitor temps, I noticed that the temps were rising to 95 degress C (this was as far as I would allow it to go) but the GPU fan was not kicking into hi speed and remained at the 2500 rpm mark. I remember from earlier it would first rise to 3500 rpm and then 5-6000 rpm, but it did not do that anymore. I also noticed that the cpu fan was louder and faster than usual. I checked the BIOS and it had been updated to x36 from x32. I thought that this was the cause so I just downgraded to x32 again but it hasnt made ANY difference whatsoever. I do not know what could be causing this. Please help, I cannot send it back to AW as I will be out of town for 4 months and I need it with me. I do not want to fry my GPU.

Any suggestions ? I tried loding bios defaults in the BIOS and also uninstalling and updating my video driver but it hasn't helped.
Do you guys think that the fan might go hi speed only after some time has passed and not just when temperature rises ? Maybe I didn't apply the thermal paste properly so the temp is rising faster than it did before. What Im trying to say is suppose the fan kicks in 2 minutes after the temp crosses 75 degrees and previously at the 2 minute mark the temp was around 85 degrees but now at the 1.5 minute point it reaches 95 degrees instead which I do not allow it to go past so I shut down Furmark before temps go higher and thus the fan doesnt get to go hi speed. Does anyone think this is possible ? Also, wasnt there a 'medium speed for the fan around 3500 rpm ? My fan just stays at 2500
