Hey guys i made this thread to see what the m15x can run at full Res and max settings without any lag. Like when i say at all i mean at all... just trying to find out what the GPU can handle as i am looking to use the 8800. Heres the list of games

    Call of duty 4
    Gears of War
    Crysis
    Assassins Creed
    Orange box
(others if you would like to contribute!)

I'm pretty sure it can hold up on the orange box, gears of war, and cod4. Maybe AC and Crysis.

My m15x is coming friday! Woohoo!

well not orange box too well at least not TF2. valve decided to optimize the game more towards the cpu than the gpu so more people can play. people with terrible pcs can play now too. it kind of killed the frame rates a bit for the 8800 since some people run at 30 when there is alot of action going on. some people who have the 8800 GTS (desktop) are having this problem. since after the recent patch i got around 30 frames now when i used to not drop 60. it isnt my gpu since every other game runs normal and i just ran 3dmark today and got 9965.

!!! I hope my 2.5ghz duo can run it smoothly. But I mainly play CS:S and UT series. (Still play starcraft competitively ;p)

i have the 2.5 GHz CPU and i have the same issues. i emailed Valve like 50 times already  . i just have to pray for a patch.

putting everything on low with the lowest settings gives you like 5 extra fps :D . i do hope valve fixes this tho. I hate that stupid patch. but then again its valve and it will take a really long time before they do anything.

at least my m15x tears through other games except crysis pretty easily. tf2 isnt bothering me yet since my internet is having issues right now so i cant play.

What?! TF2?! 8800m gtx?! NOT TOO WELL?!
your rig should able to handle all of your games with max settings for 30+ fps. and yes...including crysis.

my m15x with the 8800m can run AC at max settings at about 25-30fps. Crysis, well, even SLI desktop rigs struggle with it, but i've heard all "high", or even a bit better, should be possible.

All of the above titles are perfectly fine for the M15x. You won't have any problem running any of those (the only problem might be your GPU overheating).

while i had my m15x the only games i had a chance to play was the orange box and i had no problems at all with any of the 5 games.
ok i know nothing about frame rates and all that but the quality of the graphics was outstanding imo.
even when my 3dmark06 score dropped to 3550ish i was still getting crystal graphics with no hesitation or freezes even when the action was really intence.
i really miss it now as games are out of the question on my fujitsu.
ME THINKS ITS TIME TO BUY ANOTHER GAMING LAPTOP.

NOW WHICH DIRECTION TO GO Hmmmmmmm!!!!

you sent your m15x back before that patch right before the pyro update came out. i had perfect frames up until that patch. i email valve just about everyday. Well at least for me after that patch the game ran terribly.

I do know its patch since i was playing on the same day the patch came out. Before the patch on the same day i was getting great frames. I then took a break from playing and came back to saw a update and then updated and there goes my frames. i havent tried the 7/8 update yet which im praying will fix this problem.

BTW TF2 only uses a single core.

enabling MQM2 is one of the only solutions available but it isnt very stable. A person on the TF2 forum is also saying that its affecting his GTX 280

here are some threads if anyone is interested

Hey guys, got my M15x 2 weeks ago, Ripley 1 week before Skullcap came out doh.

Anyways Crysis only plays good at 1024x768 2x AA all setings on high and looks very nice, with all high settings turn on any higher resolution settings make the game really ****ting in any firefights. These people saying they play at 1440x 1280 with full high settings are full of **** and must like playing with crap frames as any firefights just kill the frames down to 10-20 and it sucks. Sorry I don't like playing with laggy 20-30 fps even give me 35-40 fps for any decent play.

My rig is latest beta graphics drivers installed.

    2.8 ghz
    4 gig ram
    8800m (best ghx card)
    64 gig SSD memory drive.

Sam, also you should consider... your CPU is very likely to be overheating and downclocking. Maybe that will have an influence on the reduced gameplay you are seeing.

No its not overheating as I get simliar results after a fresh boot while its been off for a bit.

Perhaps i'll try playing around with the mod settings, but i'm playing on the laptop screen anyways so 1024x768 suits me fine and the quality is ok.

The m15x eats through most games through I do love this thing.

Thanks for the tips on the triple c mod i'll look into that on google

a question related to gaming: how can i completely uninstall my microsoft infrared reciever thingy? because i think it's causing some problems with gaming, for example i can't open the console in CSS or Crysis, and i've read it's because of this reciever thingy. but when i try to uninstall it in the system control thingy, it just reinstalls the next time i start up my laptop. what do i do?

EDIT: in regards to the Crysis discussion above, yes, definitely get the CCC mod, it's great. i'm running level 4 with no AA right now, and it's always between 20-25 fps (barely playable, just a teeny weeny bit too slow). so i think i'm gonna try level 3 with 2xAA today, see how that goes.
