Hi Everyone,
After much frustration, I finally seem to have my M15x working as I think it should, with only a couple of exceptions. The first issue has happend several times and I have been unable to repeat it on demand, it just seems random, and the second thing just happend tonight, and only once (so far).
Problem 1: Bluetooth mouse "disconnects" -- I have a Logitech BlueTooth Mouse V470 (I think). Several times now, while useing the computer with the mouse conected, it will suddenly quit working. No amount of pressign the connect button, or rebooting gets it to connect again. Performing a "cold boot" (removing the battery and holding down the power button for 30 seconds) has resloved it once. The rest of the time, I have to delete the mouse, reboot, and then re-add it. THen it works fine again, for some random amount of time. I have downloaded and attempted to install the "latest" drivers from the Dell/Alienware site, but the drivers do not seem to install. Everytime I install them, they do not update the pre-existing driver. I have even tried to force Windows 7 to update the driver, but to no avail. Does anyone know how to solve this isue?
Problem 2: Power Button doesn't work -- Tonight, it took 3 presses of the Alienhead to turn the computer on. This is the only time this has happend, is it something I sould be concenred with?
Thanks!
Rich S.

Do you still have the Intel 5300 AGN problem still as well?
I think at that point i would have asked for another laptop, but that's just me being finicky i suppose. =x -
The WiFi Problems are for the most part gone. Forcing the driver to use only 20MHz channels seems to resolve the issues. I would also guess that if I could run my network at 5 GHz, it would also solve the problems. I think it is related to the number of WiFi networksk in my neighborhood, there are always 8 or 9 with sufficiant strength to connect to. My router is supposed to "auto-scan" and pick the best (clearest) channel, but it always picks channel 1 (and 5 in 40 MHz channel mode).
The most annoying thing, is the BT disconnect problem seems to be a known issue with the 6.2.0.9000 driver for the Dell card, and they have the fixed driver (6.2.0.9603) on the M15x driver site, but it won't install. It goes through the motions, but when it is finished, I still have the old driver installed. I even manually installed the driver, but it still installs the older driver. I even downloaded the package from another laptop (it was a Studio 16 I think), which is the exact same file as listed for the M15x. It is almost like the forget, and did not put the new driver in the package. I think, that if I could get the newer driver, it would probably solve my problems with BT.
The power problem might have been a fluke, as it hasn't happend again since I made the original post.
Thanks!
