So I think I some how got a virus on my m15x. I dont know how but I cant get rid of it. Whenever I open a menu it will automatically scroll through every option without stopping preventing me from doing almost anything on my laptop. At first I throught it might be from windows update so I did A system restore. This didn't help so I did another one except for like a couple weeks ago. Still didn't help =/

So I sighed and backed up all of my things to my external and used the alien respawn F10 at boot to completely restore my computer. I used the "delete everything" type option because I had everything backed up. Now im at the part in vista's setup where it asks to select my country. I try but the virus kicks in!   it just scrolls and scrolls with no way to stop it.

How the heck do I get rid of it if I dont have a Vista CD?

Format the hard drive and then use the system restore DVD that should have come with your m15x.

i don't want to sound like an ...

but are you sure it isn't just you having something pushed down on the down arrow, or page down, or something.. like on your keyboard.... or maybe it's your mouse?

That was my first thought too, since all the reinstalling you did would have most likely removed any virus

I had something similar where it was a like keys were being pressed. I swapped out the keyboard but that did not stop it. I was suspecting a virus or something like that. Turned out that I had a USB Fang gamepad that had something laying on top of it which had keys pressed. It actually has the WSAD keys used by the buttons.

Hope that makes sense and that it helps....
