Today I was looking at the M15x on the UK alienware site and when was looking at the specs it says it has a 1GB NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 260M but when you customise it you only can have a 512MB NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 240M why is this? on the American you can pick both

Dell, for whatever the reason, decides to remove the component completely off the customizer when they have supply issues with certain components, when instead they could simply just list the product as out of stock, on backorder, or whathave you to avoid confusion like this.

I'd just keep checking back every couple of days.

This happened to me with their BR drive. When I purchased my m17x the BR option was nowhere to be seen. Had it been available on the customizer with the "currently on backorder" stamped across it, I would have still configured with that and just waited.

I don't quite understand why they do this.

Thanks you for the reply and advice, I was confused as this is the first time I have ever look at buying a gaming laptop and thought it was only available in America or I was missing some thing

Well, you can pick the 260m (just checked) on the UK site but only if you pick the i7 (720) or higher. 620 might also work, but havent checked
