    Hey,

So i got a Targus Defcon CL lock from Interdiscount XXL here in Switzerland (It was at insane swiss rip-off pricing). Tried it on my m15x and it works fine. I dont know if AW actually updated the chassis or I just got a "special" Targus Lock. I mean the lock is bought in Switzerland so it is high quality stuff, not sure if you can find a lock at the swiss standard anywhere except in Switzerland :)

Here is the link to the youtube video.

(Youtube is processing the film so not sure how long that will take, have never uploaded to youtube before)

Uploaded the video to veoh and that one is working now:

I must sound like a retard starting the commentary after like 10 seconds of filming but thought first to make it a mute movie, but then i realised half way through that that would be pretty boring! :D

    Well done! :)
Did you remove the plastic bit?
I'm sure they didn't update the chassis as there are some recent owners (like Grove for example) that can't use the same lock.
Maybe you were lucky or maybe the plastic thing makes the difference (the thing that prevents the metal from the lock to contact your lapotp directly).

What an ugly laptop you've got there! ;) What's that? A burning space ship? :D

Haha, maybe, that is how i got the lock from the box. I see now that you can put on rubber stickers on it to put between computer and the lock. Most likely people have either bought the lock with the rubber stickers already on, or put the rubber stickers on before they tried out the lock.

Anyway it is a snug fit without the rubber stickers, tried the thinnest rubber sticker and that causes the lock to not being able to lock properly. So that is that i guess!

That makes it more clear then...
I wonder whether Grove tried his without the tubber thingy.
I'm sure you will have minor variations on the locks, but these should be minimal.
Anyway... Good thing that is (apparently) solved! :D

We had it in words & now in video !!!
    + rep Svarto :)

Hmm.. Do think a thin sliver of cardboard would do the trick in being a spacer between the lock and the laptop side ?

Oh and an unrelated question - I see you got the 120GB HD, how much space did you have left after AW loaded Vista and all the other programs/extras ?
    Hope it's more than a 100GB

    Edit: 500th Post !! I'm glad it's on this topic & on a high note too :D

Works right out of the package for me too, basically NO space between the lock and computer. Got it from ebay for 13 bucks

I supposed you could always buy some paper hole reinforements to put on it as a little bit of a cusion. I'm not sure if it will fit, but you could give it a try.
