Has anyone heard any word if Dell would be putting the GTX 280M into the M15x or are they just going to completely bypass it and wait for the 3xx series?

judging by the way Nvidia is going, we might be seeing ATI cards in the next M15x refresh....

Q1 2010 for the Ati 5800 mobility. It should work fine in current m15x configs.

That's a big "should" though. Any idea if it will be offered as an upgrade or will I have to buy it seperately and unfortunately having to pay 1/3 of the cost of system for it.

It's pretty much guaranteed to work. As for price that's anybodys guess--$500 would be my guess.

Someone has already stuck a 280 into the M15x, seems to not mind it. The M15x does a great job on the cooling side of things. We'll see something beginning of next year. Same thing happened with the Dell XPS M1730. They released it with the 8700, then about 4 - 6 months later the 8800 was added as an option.
