I believe it is possible. Don't know if it's worth the hassle though.

I'm sorry, but have you considered the following?

    M8660 - 15" gaming laptop
Updgraded specs + lots of modification choices. A highly spec'd system would cost around $2629.
    Chaz's review here: http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=4590

Or OCZ Whitebook - 17" Gaming laptop
Basically a next gen m9750 and only slightly thicker at 1.67"
Highly spec'd with dual crossfire with backlit keybaord standard is about ~$3600
    Supposedly achieves 14k in 3Dmark06: http://www.mycizmo.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=72&products_id=197

Basically you save $1k when comparing systems.. if you want your system painted in any color you want, you still end up ahead of Alienware's prices by about $500.

I can't really recommend Alienware at this time. If there was any laptop in their line I could recommend, it would have been the m9750 or m17x with the former being too outdated to purchase at this time. Warranty repair also seems to be an issue although I haven't seen anything negative for the m17x.

Digging up warranty repair issues shouldn't be that difficult but I can if necessarry. Lastly, this forum seems to be predominately negative since the m15x came out. The tone is quite different when visiting the sager/clevo forums. This wasn't always the case and it's just my oppinion.
