    hi was just thinking with all the new graphics cards bein anounced if any upgrades could be done. Like something either with the same power and less heat or more power and the same heat and when i say up grade i mean somthing better than an 8800 gtx

    well, the HD3870 is available as well, but it's less powerful than the 8800m-gtx. rumor has it that the HD4870 will work, but there's nothing definitive on that topic yet. the 9800m-gtx definitely won't work, too hot. as for the new 260m and 280m, the 260m might work, the 280m very probably won't.

    isnt the 280m smaller (45 or 55nm) so will this help heat at all and i no the HD4870 is technically a better card but dont Nvidia have better driver support and they run better on games made by nvidia (and i'm not a fan boy)

    Yeah, if ati had better developers there gpu's could be amazing! But nvidia have the market share + the better developers. So overall the nvidias are the better cards.
    The 880gtx/9800gt are awesome cards for laptops though"!

    nothing better out at the moment and hopefully since ati is working so hard on new cards *i hope* they are going to do a major rehaul on the drivers

    It would be nice to extend the life of these laptops for a few more years with GPU upgrades. Here's hoping that the upcoming ATI Mobility HD4870 and / or Nvidia's 260M will work in our m15x's !!! God Bless :)
