that's an area-51 m15x keyboard, not M15x. if it says the word area-51 in it, then that means that the keyboard is from the first generation m15x and not the second. So yes this keyboard (AS in the one in your link) should work with your system.

i think its an issue with command center and not your keyboard. did you at least try a cold boot.
    power down
    unplug
    remove battery
press power button for 20 secs
then turn back on and go back into your cc to see if you can change colors.

if not try reinstalling your cc.

Yeah I've tried everything it really is the keyboard, the only color it lights up is blue. When I select any other color aside from green, green lights up blue as well, it doesn't light up that color and just stays unlit. I tried reseating the keyboard reinstalled CC multiple times and still stuck. So I figured I might as well buy another keyboard and give that a shot.

mines alright just got it, hand me down from my sister who got tired of it, traded her for a sony F series, I just wanted it to mess around with. The hinge issue has gotten really bad the plastic is completely gone on the inside. The keyboard isn't too bad of a price but it's hard to find a replacement skullcap cover :'( right now I wrapped it in electrical tape all around and it's holding up decent. The specs on it though are sub par. It has a decent processor and I want to upgrade the graphics but on ebay a 8800GTX is 499. too expensive for my taste might as well put that towards a M17x.

I'll sell you my perfect skull cap for like 50 dollars, I want to get a ripley, and the used on I bought was a skull cap. Or you could try the epoxy method.

Oh and get a 260m from rjetch or... Call alienware up directly and pay them 175 for the 3870, probably greatest buck for bang. I have the 9800m GT myself but will be getting a m17x in about 2 weeks with the i7 and RGB.

Thanks for the offer on your skull cap but I fixed mine lol. Gorilla Glue does wonders. Now my hinge is a lot sturdier than it was before. Amazing how much it makes a difference. Where is this rjtech? There a website you can give me for it. And what's better the 260m or the 3870? Aside from the graphics card this m15x has a decent processor. 2.4ghz penyrn so if I could some how get a graphics card for cheap and/or a decent price this comp will be set for a little longer while I save up for a M17x :-D

This is about the same as a 9800m GT though, however if you want to use HDMI on your laptop perhaps the 9800m GT is the best card. the 3870 is a little less powerful then an 8800 but it's also alot more stable and sells cheap like here for instance. http://cgi.ebay.com/M15X-M17-ATI-RADEON-M88-XT-512MB-HD3870-MASTER_W0QQitemZ120548785984QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPCC_Video_TV_Cards?hash=item1c11447f40#ht_519wt_1165

I'm debating on picking up a full spec'ed m17x now, or waiting for the newer versions to come out.
