Hi, my M15x boots up with the blank (black) screen. Everything else is ok cuz when I connect it to an external monitor I can log into window. This is frustrated cuz I've just got it for 4days and I'm in Vietnam. Can someone tell me how to fix it (or how to open up the lcd so I can bring it to a local shop). Thx in advance.

Is it blank during the bios screen as well?
-
yes. The day before it happened, I was trying to oc the gpu. I set the clock back when I saw some throtting and it happened about 15' later.

is the backlight off?
or does it turn on but the lcd panel stays black? -
try to connect to external monitor to check if everything else is working. if works then maybe a loose connection some where.

the backlight is on and I did connect to an external monitor (everything else is working)

If you want to open it up to see if any connections are loose. under your battery is 4 screws take them off, use your finger to left open the plastic touch strap and 3 screws for keyboard. most of the lcd connections are there. Also you can pull off the plastic piece at the bottom of your screen, i don't remember if any screws hold it in place(maybe the screws in back/bottom of lid). once you pull off the plastic piece there is like 4 screws for the screen, push screen down and it should slide out. check the connections if all is fine then maybe you have a bad screen.
so your in vietnam for vacation? my wife wants to go back but i need to save some more money after buying a M15x,lol -
Here is the manual which tells you how to unhook the lcd

All you really can do is check for loose connections, otherwise youll need to have it done on warranty -
thx guys
