I am planning to buy a M15x soon. I do love Windows, but I am a Linux fan as well (though quite new to Linux for now). I'd love to use Linux Mint on my M15x, along with Windows 7. What problems will I possibly come across?

Drivers? I doubt Alienware provides drivers & its Alienware Command Center for Linux. And that raises several doubts. Lets say I have to change the system lighting through Windows only, accepted, but would I at least be able to use the lighting while Linux running?

The Touchpad seems to have few issues & I apparently need to update/replace its driver to improve it. What about it in Linux?
I'll buy an external wireless mouse, how do I use it there? (It is vendor specific, I agree, still, any "general" advise about it would highly be appreciated.)

yes, the lighting stays on (I use xp, don't have CC and it stays set to w/e its set in w7)

i suggest that you in fact uninstall the touch-pad drivers and use the default ones from the os

    Hey,

I use ubuntu 9.10 with my M15x. Everything I need works spot on (I havent tested sound + webcam). Wireless works straight out of the box. The only "problem" really are the linux drivers, which you need to install yourself (from nvidia page). It isnt really difficult but each time you update the kernel, you need to reinstall.

Also, the lighting stays always on with the last setting you saved it to.
