I have an M17, with every option, I have tried rolling back drivers, new drivers, and everything. It was working fine, until I hooked up my TV to my laptop to watch movies. Afterwords when I unhooked the HDMI the speakers will no longer work.

I have tried all 3 Sound Devices set as default. Help?

also try realtek software. there might be an option there.

    type in realtek 2.17 drivers

Sigh... I'm getting the same thing out of no where. I use Bose speakers between my laptop and iMac and when I plug those in or plug in headphones they work okay but when I unplug them the speakers aren't working as they used to! It achknowledges I unplugged it but doesn't seem to switch to the speakers. Hmm this is very odd. It came out of no where. I'll try playing around with it more and report back with the results!
