    Will DELL still updates M17's BIOS and drivers (for WIN7)? or M17 is abandoned forever...

    You should still be able to access your hive from the usual Alienware pages under support.

    As to whether they will be updated or not;

    I seriously doubt it.....they dont even respond to E-mails anymore....well in my experience anyway!

    They never respond E-mails...Did any M17 user sue Alienware? Many M17 users who have quad problem just sold their laptop, so Alienware could easily escape liability. We paid a lot of money to them, but we never got quality service.

    Don't think anyone has sued them yet, I will be if they don't get around to sending me my replacement x9100...

    Unforunatly there is a very small chance any Alienware Devs' will ever touch the M17 again; their last addition/drivers were most likely for the RAM addition.

    The only way to get by for the graphics card is to mod your own, and the rest you just have to make-do, or browse for Intel's chipset updates, or Realtek's audio driver stuff for example. I'm thinking about making an updated "My Hive" for the M17 Drivers on my Media Fire account, I just haven't gotten around to it. : p
    Good luck :|

    Alienware stated on their support forums that they will offer updated drivers and applications for any system they sell that comes with the Windows 7 upgrade coupon. Currently you can still purchase M17's and Area-15 m15x's (refurb) with an upgrade coupon. I read that as "we should see at least a set of Windows 7 drivers and applications (Command Center)".

    None of the drivers need to be updated for Win 7 compatibility. At max they'll change the names -- and the performance change will come from Windows 7.
    Don't get me wrong, I love my M17, but Alienware has updated the graphics card driver.. what.. once?

    OSD and Command Center should receive updates as they don't currently work with Win 7, but you're right about the video drivers.
