***DO NOT USE THIS IN CONJUNCTION WITH MOBILITY MODDER!***THIS .INF RESOLVES THE RESOLUTION PROBLEMS CAUSED BY MobMod**** insert .inf in folder, install catalyst package.
to anyone interested.. If you have tried to install the 8.11 Drivers, and notice that your screen no longer scales and "Fits to screen" when gaming, aside from the native 1920.1200 resolution..or notice that if you try to change desktop resolution, it letterboxes your screen isntead of stretching.. Here's a personal modded .inf for install with the 8.11 Series.
If 8.11 is already installed, copy this file to your extracted ATI install directory something like "c:/*/ati/support/8.11folder/packages/drivers/display/lh68_inf/ch_70230.inf"
It will prompt you to replace that file, say yes. Now, don't run the catalyst install again. Just go to device manager and your Display Adapter.. Update video driver, and then use have disk method to locate the new .inf - install, and like with mobility modder just tell windows to install even though it's not signed. You only need to install on one card and it applies to both.
If doing a 8.11 install, or upgrade.. you can replace the .inf before running the install..however(and Im working on this) when it finishes installing it shows as the HD3870 x 2 - although I didn't include that in the driver install file. So, please continue with the aforementioned process using "Have Disk" method.
Now, 8.11 drivers are installed, you can scale games and desktop resolutions, with same previous tweaks including CrossFire enabled and forced, and FarCry2 still sucks with ATI drivers.![]()
Download 8.11 Vista 64bit .inf HERE
If you need a 32bit version PM me.
Personal Experience Side Note:
-By the way, you can disable AI and still have crossfire..but you lose the driver specific tweaks and enhancements.
-I do not recommend AI "Advanced" however Standard seems ok..sometimes.
-I've found that the ATI control panel settings can have MAJOR results upon performance.
- MipMaps Performance or Quality settings seem to net best gains
-Turn off VSync(force if you have to)
-leave DXT Enabled.
-Allow Applications to handle Anti-aliasing, and anisotropic filtering and disable Adaptive AA.
-FC2 still a pain with these 8.11 drivers
+rep if ya love me, hate me, or just appreciate me.![]()

There's always room to squeeze out a little bit more
I figured I'd give these Aware folks a quick heads up with this thread.. I had an issue that I resolved, and before a bunch of folks start updating drivers Im trying to quell the plethora of questions.
They should come visit the OCZ thread sometime, it's been slow over there lately. You thinkin bout picking up the Whitebook/M17?
M17 Crossfire Drivers v8.11 screen resolution problems, this will solve it.
