    i am having trouble getting my computer to read cds or dvds

    i try to explor it reads it as blank i try auto play it down't do anything i double click it reads as application not found

    any ideas?

    ODD = Optical Disc Drive, kinda like HDD = Hard Disc Drive and SSD = Solid State Drive :)

    with my question about related programs, i mean writing/burning programs or similar.

    uninstalled any such programs lately? google says this kind of error usually occurs after installing or uninstalling such programs and then the registry doesn't get cleaned up properly, and/or there are "filter collisions".

    well i uninstalled the dvd through device manager and restarted and on reboot it read the cd but when i tried to open i got the error

    imma run CCcleaner

    Installed any recent games with SecureRom or similar "protection" on them? These systems have been seen to cause problems for optical drives...
