Hello all I was wondering if anyone knows of a good fingerprint software for the M17. My Dell XPS M1330 came with UPEK and the software is really good and useful as I could register all my website passwords so that I don’t have to manually log in and when I need to lock my Laptop all I have to do is swipe my finger on the reader. My M17 came with AuthenTec AES 1610 reader I am trying to find an alternate software compatible with it. Has anyone had any luck with an alternative?

I did I tried it and it does not recognize the fingerprint reader. I acctually tried a few and the only other software that worked was for a Lenovo laptop.

The program that comes with the M17 does that already.
I think it's call password bank, and it works with IE.

Yeap what Fusion said. M17 comes with Vitakey software which allows you to use the fingerprint device to login to pages.

Note that it doesnt work with Firefox.

Is that in the Utility CD that comes with the M17? I just got mine today and I had asked for it with Vista Ultimate and Got it with Vista Home Premium. I installed Vista Ultimate that I have since I wasn't supplied with the Ultimate disk. I also just notice a dead pixel in the middle of the screen. I have not called them as they are not open on weekends.

Make sure you update to OSD 2.01 for the pixel http://aliendl.alienware.com/Mobile/m17/M17_OSD_2.01.exe

Also heres the links for the Vitakey software in case its not installed on your system. Note that you need to config it first in order to use it. (Right click on the icon in the tray).

How did you make out with your dead pixel?, I have a stuck pixel in the lower left hand corner of my screen and they would not replace, very tiny but i know it's there.
