    M17 Hi Res Screen

    Hi
    I have the 1440x900 screen currently on my M17. I got it cos I bought the machine for gaming and wanted as future proof laptop as possible so thought if I buy the 1920x1200 screen it means I won't be able to run games in native res for as long into the future as the lower screen.
    But...I'm quite dissappointed with the lower res screen. Viewing angles aren't great, sharpness is poor and it's just too, well, low res! So I'm thinking of upgrading the screen to the higher res one.
    I know the high res screen will look much better surfing the web and stuff and will give more screen real estate, but my question is for gaming. I can run all modern games at max detail at 1440x900 but if running at the higher res things will be more demanding. I just want to know if the M17 high res screen scales ok so if I have to turn down the resolution in games only will it still look good or do you get that horrible blurred effect when running lower than native? If running at lower than native on the high res screen is a bit rubbish I'll stick with the 1440 screen.

    Native resolution always looks better so yea if you use a lower resolution things will get blurry etc.

    So far i dont have any issues with games at 1920x1200, you will be able to play most if not all games (for now) with full details (except certain games like Crysis for eg...) but keep in mind 1920x1200 means no AA, not that you really need it at that res but still. AA will pretty much kill your fps at that res.

    I would say that it's worth the upgrade. Everything looks so much better with that high resolution. Furthermore, you can always make the resolution lower on games but you can't change it to 1440x900, I think the scaling has problems, however you can always change the ratio to 16:10 on games. Overall, I think its worth it.

    with 4850's i'm able to run any game in native rez including crysis so ya it shall remain preatty much future proof (except for EA games but that's just because tey don,t know how to code a game not because your machine is outdated)
