Hey, I've noticed that randomly while playing WoW my M17 gets really choppy. The sound gets laggy and I can barely move my mouse. This has nothing to do with the vista sleep bug, any ideas?

Occasionally with Portal but not as common. It's also almost always when I have music playing.

My M17 always lags with something, may it be winamp, wmp or opening/closing internet browsers..i got so tired of it i just gave up trying to fix it and accepted this flaw.

I will keep an eye on this thread to see if you manage to fix it and if you do please do share.

    Cheers!

I have a simular problem when I install the QX9300 processor. When I have my stock P8400 installed the problem is gone and the system is as solid as a rock. I experiance lagg and choppy graphics and sound. Games seem to stall/lagg and then jolt forward. It seems a complete match to my problem.

Hey sorry had to run out and take care of some stuff. I'm back again. It has happened once before when not gaming but only once before. 99% of the time it happens while I'm playing WoW.

Download the new Realtek audio driver, new video driver, and make sure power scheme in Vista is Performance Mode as well as High Performance under the CAtalyst control center's Powerplay option. Just some easy troubleshooting. :)

Can I get a link to the official drivers? I've gotten them before via ATI's site but they always seem outdated.

lol ATI does not like to support mobile cards with new drivers thats why we mob mod them. the 8.12 and 9.1 drivers here work perfect and are not the source of the issues

If you actually installed the desktop drivers (since they can be installed without giving an error but they wont actually work) then thats your problem.

You can either use the outdated AW's drivers or the modded ATI ones from http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=329941.

Ok I tried the modded drivers out but they made my screen slightly blurry (kind of like a full screen glow) and that drove me crazy. So I went with the one on the Alienware site and it's working fine. Thanks for the help guys!
