(the title is supposed to say Q9000 not Q900)

    Hey guys,

I just noticed today that the M17 now offers the Q9000. This might be old news to some, but this is the first time I've seen it. Its only $300 for the upgrade but its only clocked at 2.0ghz.

What do ya'll think is the significantly better than say a P8400 or most dual cores. I wonder if it can be overclocked...

    Intel® Core™2 Quad Q9000 2.00GHz (6MB Cache, 1066MHz FSB) [+$300 or $9/mo.]

i think any quadcore processor is better than a dual-core CPU. as for the overclocking, with the COZ BIOS, i think a 10-25% OC should be doable.

depends on the benchmark/game/OS. in 3dmark06/CS:S/XP, no. in Vantage/GTA IV/Win7, yes.

A 2Ghz Core 2 Quad is not going to tackle the T9800 or X9100 in any game.
