    I recently bought a new Alienware M17x R2 Laptop and have already encountered an issue with the RGB display. The computer will turn on however, the screen won't turn on and one of the fans seems like
    it's on full power. I left my laptop running and closed the screen, when I go back to use my laptop and re-open the screen my computer turns on and the screen just stay’s black, even after I mess around with the mouse and try clicking a few buttons. Is there something wrong with the screen? How do i resolve my Alienware M17x Laptop M17x display issues? Any one has any idea about it? Kindly help me out to resolve the above issue. Thanks.

    Seems like your screen is either dead or not fully connected...Have you dismantled it? To add other parts? Extra GPU? CPU? You might of forgotten to reconnect a RGB cable. If not i'd call Dell and ask for a Replacement screen/replacement unit.

    No I never opened it at all. Ive only had it for a week! All I did was close the case and now it's not working. It hasn't been knocked as it was sitting on my desk and working 30 mins ago. Anyone else come across this?

    I would try to follow one of the guides and reset the connection again. Shouldn't be too hard on a big machine like the M17x. If that fails, call Dell...

    Try the 10.3 beta drivers.
    Doesn't help? -> re-flash the A02 BIOS.
    Doesn't help? -> screw 'em and call Dell.

    Re-seating the cables/connectors will probably not help but can create more complications if you're doing this first time.

    Have your played with the Bios like the overclocking? If you have that could be where the issue at. I had the same issue. When I move the bios back to non overclocking sleep mode worked.

    dont know if you know, but the 10.3a version of the drivers are available today from underground.amd.com

    I personally would be careful with the 10.3 beta's because some users have reported their GPU's run hot with the beta's.

    good luck!
