I have an M17 and I noticed that there is static that comes out of the right speaker. Adjusting the volume level does not change the volume of the static, and the sound is working fine. There is no static if I boot into safe mode. Has anyone else had this problem? It's not a major deal, but it would be nice if there was a solution. I'm not about to send it in. I sent am M9700 back with a dead motherboard once, and though they fixed it, they also scratched it and damaged the display. They also format them. I understand why they do it, but not worth the hassle for me for this issue. I tried a couple of different drivers and get the same problem. Running Windows 7 x64.

I'll have to try some headphones later. Don't have access to any right now but it 's a good idea.
