dont forget to pray that you never have the send in the laptop since changing the thermal paste voids the warranty. or at least hope they never find out :) . I do agree with the reason why you had to change it tho.

    WOW...

Yeah, Fusionsenses had the same issue. Quite hard to believe. This is the second time I've seen this in a month and a half. Not like leaving a connector loose or something...this could potentially cause nasty hardware failures.

Let us know what the outcome is.

THAT IS RIDICULOUS! Fusioness had the EXACT same issue! You guys should find out who "built" your systems.. evidentally there is a record of who builds em.. and it should be signed by them. If you and fusion have the same guy that built yours..then he should be FIRED. This is unacceptable. I mean.. is this a sweat shop with 12 year olds building a system? Are they in THAT much of a hurry where they cant install hardware? Uhhh..on a $3,000 system. Thanks AW. Another system thrown together.

watch out when using that figure, some people take offence...

at any rate, i agree that there should be an inquiry into who exactly built these two systems, because this is unacceptable. it may well be the same guy, and if so, he deserves the boot.

thats outrageous i cant believe they could do such stupid things into leaving the cover on the heat sink, and why do they need to put tape over the GPU anyway?

on the plus side... looks like you got lucky, doesnt look like it harmed your system

that would explain why it glitched at fullscreen. when the clocks go up, its clearly overheating,

suggest you inform roswell to complain about it, a 10yr old can remove tape....

Btw do you play supreme commander forged alliance?

That's why you need to check your temperature first, which is what 5+ other members asks you to provide.

I had already checked the temps and they really weren't all that high. I wasn't running any 3D programs long enough for them to get high enough for them to be noticeable. This is something that just started to happen out of the blue. I hardly suspected tape to be on my GPU. (Nor did others)

Mine goes up to 110 degree in 10 seconds.
It's a bit different in my case, mine was only the core, but on both core.
Yours is on the ram as well, which might cause the texture artifacts earlier than mine.
