Is it just me or M17 seems to be cheaper than M17x?

I configured both of them and the only difference is:
    M17:
    Radeon 4850x2 Crossfire
    M17x:
    NVIDIA GTX 280m SLi

and the difference in price is about $400.
So should I go for M17 or M17x?

I did use the search for the other topic, and that topic was answered way before you posted there. The topic was gonna die off and you bumped it up again.

and for this topic, I'm looking for personal opinion, not facts (just like the other topic). But I will look at those 2 links u posted, thx.

Yep, seriously there is a good comparison thread in between both PC. Yes the M17X is more expensive and to date it still holds the bench records even compared to an M17 with crossfire 4850's.

The build of the M17X is just amazing as the M17 is cheap plastic and does not last well with time...

ANYWAYS, please refer to the threads above mentioned by Geby.

the difference is the cards 4850 that it for the m17 no higher
m17x has possibilities to have upgraded gpu due to a newer mxm.

mxm = type of slot in the laptop that the cards slot into.

if you short of cash m17..... if you loaded m17x

you will see in a few months the m17x will be dust because of a newer laptop again, probably go back a few years in nbr and see simular posts and should i buy this or that bud.

You can get better discounts on the M17x vs the M17. Plus many believe the next generation GPUs will work with the M17x. I know there's a monstrous price difference between the US and the rest of the world but in the US the price is about the same.

I just wanted to see what you meant by "many believe the next generation GPU will work on the M17X"

Does that imply you don't believe the GT300M will be MXM 3.0b?

Do you still have the highest M17X Vantage and 3DMark06 scores?

I think so. I would think if someone got higher they would let me know about it. People are now getting the new Clevo so we'll see what that does.
