    Hey all,

It's been a little while since I've posted but I do have a question for anyone else with the game HAWX and an M17.

My system specs are the dual 3870's with the 9.5 drivers and a Q9100 CPU.
I have done the cooling mods aside from the copper mod (can't find the copper) and also have a Cyro laptop cooler.

The problem I am having is after a random amount of time playing the game it BSODs. I have downloaded the patch as it said it fixed crashes on some laptop ATI cards but I still have this problem. The longest I've been able to play is about 10-15min before the BSOD. All my other games run fine at 1920x1200 high settings, etc.

Anyone else have this issue or seen it or can test it?

    Thanks in advance.

*EDIT* Sorry if this is in the wrong area too.

Thanks for the reply and yeah, I was first trying to run it on v9.4 with the same issue. Updated to 9.6 (clean install using drive sweeper, etc) and no luck. I have also tried to reinstall the game twice as well. No luck. I will check to see if I can update DX. Some things like this are tough due to limited bandwidth.

i had issues with the hawx demo....every so often my cards would crash and stall the game....the game would start back up and everything would be fine for another five-ten mins before the same thing would happen again. my fix was deleting the demo lol havent had any problems with any other games

Hmm maybe I'll have to try and revert to 9.3. The only drawback to that is when I was on older drivers and playing COD-WAW the water in the second map and some other maps would look really effed up.

Welp still no luck with this game. I have tried to install driver v9.3, reinstall DX, reinstall the game again, etc but I still keep getting the BSOD saying ATIKMAG.SYS or whatever. I've done a number of googles and it seems that this issue is quite random and not limited to laptops. One thing I did happen to notice as a trend is most of the people with the same issue are running a Xfire config.

Looks like I'm gunna have to wait on either a newer driver or patch to the game, or both. =(

EDIT: About the only thing I haven't tried is MEMTest, and swapping components. Unfortunatly I can't really swap stuff around as I don't have "spares" kicking around. I am glad however that all my other games play smooth and fast!

I had another thought. Does anyone know how I could disable or turn off Xfire? I've noticed that others who have had the same issue as I have were also running Xfire.

In the catalyst control center under 3D, when you check the box next to Disable Catalyst A.I. that disables crossfire.
