Hey all, quick one and im not sure if this is even an issue. I am using the real tek audio drivers listed on the M17 owners page thread, when connecting headphones or external speakers, the lap tops speakers shut off yet the subwoofer stays on. Lol the other day at work i was playin left 4 dead in my cubicle on lunch, then i realize everyone can hear me shootin zombies lol....embarrising to say the least haha :D Ive searched the audio options extensively and cannot find anything that pertains to the sub output. Anyone else ran into this and found a fix? Thanks for the help .....lol i want to bring my m17 with me on a flight im goin on soon, but the constantly on sub might anger the guy next to me, not to mention the stream of hot exhaust meltin his leg lol

The only way I can see that might help is to go the Realtek panel and select a preset equalization that has less bass. I didn't know there wasn't an actual equalizer built in.

Is it really not possible to disable the sub when using headphones? Does it switch off if using the digital output? This is a bit of a flaw in the drivers, hopefully they will fix this with an update soon.

    Sorry for the inconvenience,

Please try reinstallling the drivers from our support site/Myhive. All speakers and subwoofer should be disabled once you have plugged in the headphones. Let us know.

    Thank you.

Months later and I still get the same issue
/using ctrl-F6; Mute doesn't turn off the sub.
Also I have 2 sets of normal speakers listed in the
playback devices from the audio icon in the taskbar.
(is that normal?) 1 obviously controls the sub and the other controls the 2 front. I've reinstalled the drivers to make sure to no avail. I think it may just be best to get rid of alienwares drivers and go with realtek's ... now if I only knew the realtek download for the m17 I could speed the process....

    EDIT:

.. for those looking for the same.

Having two sets of Normal Speakers (with Realtek High Definition Audio as the Output device) is not normal. Mine only shows one, and the sub disables when using headphones using the Audio drivers that came with the system from alienware here.
