Thought it might be interesting to see how many of us are planning for the 4870 upgrade and under what circumstances.

You can check more than one box since more than one may apply.

I have not mentioned cost in this since we don't know yet.

    Sry for the spelling -probably.

I guess I'm with the rest of you. I'd much prefer to do the install myself.

As this poll goes on it will be interesting to see how many plan to keep vs how many plan to sell their 3870's.

I plan to keep my 3870's to put into my M9750, but i would keep them anyway as back-up in the event one of the 4870's fried.

If I have to send mine in I will. I'll be in the Middle East for the next six months so I'll have lots of results to check out before I get mine.

I should have included a "I don't plan to get 4870's" selection as well.

I'm not sure if I have the need to upgrade my 3870s yet. Maybe somewhere in future. Sending back the laptop for upgrades really isn't an option right now.

I would upgrade to the 4870's if

    A) the price wasnt insane and justifable by the increase in performance
    B) i could recover some by selling the 3870's

i would send mine back in from what i have read they would need new Heatsinks and with AW suffering with over heating i wanna be covered in case i get toasted components

You know what would be hilarious, if we all prepared for this upgrade and then they just came out with a new model... maybe not hilarious, sad though... lol
