    one's hybrid and will work with both ATI and Nvidia cards, the other is a standard MXM 3.0 slot and will work only with ATI cards.

    I received a conformation e-mail on the 23rd that mine was shipped with no problems and I have tracking information and everything!! I can't wait!! I received dual hd 3870's and 2.0 quad core. So I will let you know when it comes in the next few days!!

    *** UPDATE, 27 MARCH ***

    Today was to be the shipping date for my M17, so I called Alienware to confirm and get tracking info. I was told they're out again... :( the slave ATI cards are again on backorder, with an estimated arrival time of 13 April, and they're "hoping" that would give me a shipping date of the third week in April sometime.

    They did give me the option of cancelling the crossfire setup, having them ship it to me with the one card (the system is complete, minus the second card) and then sending me the card when it comes available, but the problem is the installation of that card isn't covered under the warranty (I specifically asked...) so if the card doesn't work, or is DOA, I'm thinking I'd have a hard time proving I didn't mess it up during installation (or, if I DID mess it up during installation, I'd be screwed...)

    I'm pretty frustrated - I'd hoped since I saw everyone else's orders moving, mine would be moving too... Ah, what a total mood-kill for an otherwise beautiful Friday morning.

    I ordered my M17 on the 27th of March and I have received backorder notice. I am sitting at Phase 4 with an esitmated ship date of April 20. This is what I received in mail not long ago.

    Unfortunately, there has been a delay with your order PO-#####. The following items are backordered and we are waiting for them to arrive:

    - M17/M15X ATI RADEON M88 XT 512MB HD3870 MASTER REV. 1
    - M17 ATI RADEON M88 XT 512MB HD3870 SLAVE REV. 1

    Since we do not yet have an estimated arrival date for the parts, I suggest contacting us next week for an update. Once we receive the backordered items, we will proceed to start the assembly of your system. We apologize for the delay and the inconvenience that this may cause you.
