Ok so I have two questions. First im looking at fujitsu 15000rpm hard drives for it. But the one thing is that the m17 has a sata interface and the new drives are scsi interface will they work? Second I didnt op for the raid setup from alienware will there still be a raid controller on the motherboard?

I can't help you with your first question. I got the 160GB single drive configuration. When I got the laptop in the mail, I slapped the 160GB drive from my dead E1705 in the second drive bay. All you have to do is enter the BIOS options and enable whichever type of RAID you want to use. Also know that the M17 comes with a second HDD cage, but no screws to fasten the HDD to the cage. I had to use the ones from my E1705, but they are universal. Also know that RAID0 won't improve anything but loading/installing/file transfer times. I got no extra 3DMarks. And you WILL have to reformat after setting up a RAID array, just so you know. Hope this helps.
