M17 stuck in phase 2 for 15 days

So far not minding just would appreciate an honest answer when contacting them. To use “paperwork” as an excuse when “charging” a credit card in this day and age is a bit unreasonable. Could you imagine going to your local store to buy something and the cashier told you “As soon as the paperwork clears you credit card account we can get these items you want delivered in say…5-7 days!” lol…

Right now maybe just amuse myself and keep contacting them for the next paper trail story, keeping it professional of course.

 

I spoke to AW today. Illuminated keyboard and CF video cards on back order, they don't expected to have both till 12/16. They actually suggested to me to cancel because I won't be in town from the 16th till the 27th to recieve my M17. They said the best option was for me to cancel and call back on the 16th to confirm back ordered parts are in then submit aa new order so I won't be getting an M17 till at least Jan. My original order was 11/19. Funny how someone was saying suck it up and stop complaining, I don't mind waiting for back ordered parts, but it's the different story and being upfront with M17 customers which is unfortunate and the customer expierence one would expect. Anyway, it's the M17 I want so I did as suggested and canceled and will re-order once the video cards and keyboards are in around the 16th. The rep told me no M17's are shipping anytime soon if they had the illuminated keyboard and Coss Fire video cards. Hate to be the bearer of bad news and good luck.

 

Get a hold of Roswell. They seem to do better about keeping straight with you. More or less their regular customer service will throw whatever they have out there to keep you thinking that the process hasn't come to a halt.

I don't mind waiting usually. I'm a patient guy. However my 4 year old laptop LCD screen is going out and having fan/heat issues. I have a company laptop, but I don't like to use it for my recreational activities. So I'm in a tough spot on whether to stick with AW and see if they pull through here in a couple weeks, or jump ship and go to xotic and pick up a whitebook (I would have to dump a couple hundred more, though some of the perks are nice). I'm giving AW about 1 1/2 months to get this to me, hopefully they won't let me down.

 

I bore the bad news several posts back in the thread, so the burden's off ya.

So I suppose it's confirmed -- the majority of M17 delays are likely due to back ordered video cards and keyboards.

No, no charge to cancel.

 

I wouldn't be so quick to cancel your order. I talked to AW today and they have just received a shipment of video cards and keyboard components.

 

my contact tells me the keyboard is still out. At least still out for orders placed after the 18th.

 

That is good to hear some of the parts are finally showing up. I'm trying not to get my hopes up on when I will get my M17, but I'm glad things *may* be going my way.

 

Check your order status. If you're like me, you should have been bumped up at least a stage. Also check the end of the official owners' thread; a user posted some interesting info about parts availability there after speaking with an Alienware rep.

Yeah.....I noticed I have finally left phase 2 and been moved to 3. I'm starting to get a bit jumpy.

 

Mine just moved to phase 3 this afternoon as well

They must received parts for everyones to move like that, mine was still on Phase 1 at 10AM this morning

 

I called into Roswell today. They said that a shipment came in and all the parts were processed and my laptop was ready to be built. I will be hounding them now on updates.

Someone called me this afternoon and told me mine was going to production. Told me that the keyboards were in stock now....

 

I'm in phase 5. Finally. Either this is it or AW is the ultimate troll.

 

man reading these I was starting to get nervous about ordering an alienware and having it before Christmas...hopefully mine starts to get out of this phase 2 bull as well...glad everyone elses is starting to go through!

nope...still in phase 2.
could be because mines a m15x though...not to sure...as long as it comes before christmas ill be happy.

 

mine was phase 3 yesterday,
jumped to phase 5 today!
