    M17 w/Student Discount

    OK, I know the AW student purchase site has been seriously borked for months now, but I just found a cool trick.

    The M17 has never shown up as eligible for a student 5% discount (there are no discounts shown on any desktops as well, but look for the sweet 5% off an m9750...the only one I could get working through the student purchase link).

    So today I went to see if I could configure an m15x (I don't have the money with or without the discount, but I can dream), and it still won't work. But after signing in for the student price, I went back to the homepage and looked at the m17 advertised for $1,999. Once I went to configure it, the site had a discount code entered, and allowed me to configure an m17 at the discount price.

    {a short time later} It looks like the site will now let you configure desktops and all laptops at the discount rate once you've signed in on the Alienware University link. Very cool.

    I've called them before regarding the fact that their student discount was not working for all systems and they just said phone in the order and you can get a 5% discount on any system.
