Okay, i'm having a new issue with my M17 (NOT M17x)I was playing "Jane Doe" in iTunes and pulled the headphones out to switch on Integrated Speakers and the sound was horrible. There were like erm... Freezes, and it was saccaded... Is that a problem with iTunes?

Well, it happened a few times before with games and videos. But mainly happens with iTunes.

look like a stutter
let me guess you m17 is 1-3 month old has been working like a charm untilll
what is your bios version and what is the version of your realtek drivers -
I have the M17X, and have Tried:
I tunes, and WIndows Media player both do it so thats not it
Deinstalled newer drivers and went back to older ones (So far helped the best)
Disabled any unwanted or needed programs by Ms Config and Services menu.
Updated many sound drivers.
Lots and lots of visits to this forum LMAO.
I did notice though when i first got mine out of the box it had NO issues with sound and then it hit one day. Still trying to remember changed. -
You could try the B14 BIOS if you aren't already, it was meant to help the problem.
Also try uninstalling your touchpad driver, it supposedly helps some people.
When it starts to happen, try pulling out your power cord from the back, wait a second, and plug it back in. -

try to get the driver from realtek website, dont use the driver from alienware becaause it's very old version..
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads...=3&GetDown=false#High Definition Audio Codecs -
Thank you. Which one should i install? "High Definition Audio Codecs" ?
If that's the right category, Vista, Windows7 Driver (32/64 bits) Driver only (ZIP file) or ATI HDMI Audio Device?
Update: I intalled all drivers from that page including Windows 7 High Definition Driver and the ATI thing and the sound issues are even worse now, its not bearable. Please save my soul! -
*Blushes* Bump?

Go to Realtek.com - select the HD Audio Codec Driver under quick links.
Then go for the driver R2.37 - I have installed it and I have not had any sound stutter since. -
ok what version of catalyst are you running? try instaling 9.10 or 9.11 using mobility modder the worstning might comme from a incompatibility froma ti hdmi and an older ati driver
i guess that you are runing in high perf mode in window power plan
go edit the power plan you are using go in advanced set processor power state to always 100% i've noticed that when throtteling goes in 1 of the 2 cpu throttle thus making it stutter but that's not the only reason
evils corsair trick to pull out the power cord when it happen works that's how i getten rid of it when it was worst on mine
evils corsair advice again unistaling the touch pad driver could help or try newer version from synaptic website -
Doesn't work so far

I am having similar problems with my M17x. When playing back I seem to get the digital studdering. I'm not sure how to fix it. I'm thinking this is some type of software problem.
-
I was thinking it could be the RAM it mainly happens when i open an internet connection while listening to music.

Still using the same driver than yesterday when i was still having issues but now everything seems stable, no sound issues, that's odd.
-
glad you don't have any more issues
M17, what have you done? [Sound Issues]
