Yes, I know Crysis doesn't like the 3870s. Nevertheless, looking at benchmarks I never thought it'd do THIS badly.

This is with the modded 9.1 drivers, performance was identical before installing the new drivers too.

On Crysis Warhead, set to mainstream (equivelant of Medium on Crysis) it gets low 20s, even as much as high 10s in fps, at 1440x900. Even switching it to 1080x720 or whatever it is doesn't improve it more than about 3fps.

Considering benchmarks have set the original Crysis as 30fps average on High, I don't think it should be going THIS low.

Oh, and if anyone knows anything about it as well, my media touch keys don't work with iTunes if I'm on another program. Works fine if I'm actually in iTunes. Is there any fix for that?

Thatdoes seem a bit low. I get at least in the mid 20's with everything set to high (no AA) and play at 1900x1200.

What is your 3DMark06 score? Are you sure both cards are on?

I need to download 3DMark06 still. I don't know how to check if both cards are on or not. How do I check?

Yeah, I don't care for CCC. It isn't real clear. I usually just open CCC and take a look for the 3870's then close CCC.

I once didn't have CCC set to run at start-up and only had use of one card so make sure CCC is running.

I've got CCC open right now. In the Graphics Adapter drop down box, should it show two 3870s or just one? Because mine only shows one.

I find it worrying that when I open the 'Performace Information and Tools' utility in Vista, it shows a graphics and gaming graphics score of 1.0. I KNOW it shouldn't be that, so something is definetely wrong.

I've checked my temps with GPU-Z and while I was in game, both cards were getting hotter, so I've no idea what's up with it.

Have you checked in device manager?

Give me a minute and I'll fire upmy rig and see what mine says.

EDIT: Okay, in CCC go to information center>graphics hardware, there you can see the primary adapter and scroll down and you should see linked adapter.

Then both your cards seem to be working.

Do you have AA on? That can really lower fps.

Also, once you get 3DMarko6 and run it at 1280x1024 you should see 13,xxx to 14,000 with stock clocks.

Bear in mind too that your proc is at 2.0 Ghz (right?) and my proc (X9100) is 3.06 stock.

Perhaps it's a problem with Warhead. I'm installing the original to try it.

hi bud you need to unistall your drivers on your cards as 1.0 score for your graphics is wrong lol my phone would score higher than 1. i only have 1 3870 and i have a score of 5.9 so i dont think the drivers are installed properly as as m17 has no internal graphics id say your cards are ok as you could not see your screen.

remove old drivers completley and start again.

    Good call Kcuk.

Be sure to use Driversweeper after you remove the old drivers to get all traces of the old drivers removed.

I just retested it and it scored 5.9, so it was probably just a score from when I was reinstalling Vista.

also bud 2gig ram may be hindering you abit using vista with all the bells and whistles turned on...... ctrl alt delt get up task manager and expand it so you can see the prozzi and ram running amounts and then run crysis for 5-10 mins, then shut down crysis and see what it has been running at, becuase if you hitting near your 2 gig you will start to use virtual ram, i.e hdd as somewhere to store stuff, and that will slow you down alot also.

if this is the case see what programs you have running in the background.

as mine at the min with all sorts of crap on it is ....1.56gig but i have 4gig in so im ok, but just check as you might be having this problem. okidoki bud

Much better now. I'm playing on Gamer at 1440x900 and I'm averaging around 30fps. No idea what I did that might have fixed it though o.0

Okay, I've got another problem now. Whenever I attempt to play pretty much my favourite online first person shooter, Soldier Front, it just sends the processor into going absolutely nutso. You may or may not be familiar with Soldier Front. But basically if I wait in the lobby for about a minute, the stuttering caused by the crazy processor dies off. However, when I attempt to actually get into a game, the processor goes nutzo again and the game crashes.

It's my favourite online first person shooter, don't tell me that the M17 doesn't like it -_-

The stuttering never happens anywhere else, not on startup, not when playing Crysis, so I just don't know what the hell is setting it off that way from a first person shooter that will run on a (reasonably new) integrated chip and was developed 9 years ago.

    Any advice on it?

Just set shaders, objects and shadows to mainstream, the rest you can pretty much max them :)

Everything at Gamer options apart from the movement blur since i dont like it gets me about 30-40fps at 1680x1050.
