Basically due to Norton screwing itself over, I've had to format and reinstall everything (safe to say I'm sticking to AVG from now on) and I've got no problem (half glad I did it-much faster now and much less RAM is used, I probably spent less time than it would have taken to get rid of all the crap on my old data) apart from a small issue with Command Centre. I can change values in Fusion (for the power settings) however some of them just do not save. A particularly annoying one is the CPU usage doesn't save-as I want Balanced to lock down the CPU to a 6.0x multiplier.

Is there an updated Command Centre I could install? (Or any other way to fix it)

I would check MyHive but I can't-whenever I attempt to create an account it just says that my account number has already been registered, which it hasn't-not by me at least. (If someone could help me with that I'd appreciate it too)

    Thanks.

Well first off, did you install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 first?

These are the version numbers for the latest Command Center's depending on your version of Vista.

    • M17 Command Center for Vista x32 1.00.29 <-- LATEST VERSION
Alienware M17 Command Center for Windows Vista x32.
    • M17 Command Center for Vista x64 1.00.29
Alienware M17 Command Center for Windows Vista x64.
    • M17 Command Center for Vista x64 1.00.33 <-- LATEST VERSION
Alienware M17 Command Center for Windows Vista x64.
    • Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5

The Microsoft® .NET Framework version 3.5 redistributable package installs the common language runtime and associated files required to run applications developed to target the .NET Framework 3.5.

This software is required in order for Command Center to function properly in Windows XP, Windows Vista x32 and Windows Vista x64.

Platform(s): Windows Vista, Windows Vista x64, Windows XP, Windows XP Media Center

Are you using the number of the card in your black "users manual" as your Account Number to log into MyHive?

Yes, I'm using the number of the card in the user manual. for MyHive.

Also, yes, I did install the 3.5 framework first. (It prompted me to do so when I attempted to install it)

It would appear there is only one version for 32 bit Vista. Hmm...I wonder what's wrong with it.

Oh, and thanks for actually replying when I thought I'd have to find the answers elsewhere :p

Been installing windows 7 and vista for the past week to get command centre. It seems windows 7 will not work with command centre i suspect that it will be ready work properly when Alienware finally launches their Wares with 7 as default. i recall XP transition to Vista took forever and this is similar. I also noted thaty windows 7 i dont get jittery graphics but in Vista 64 reinstalled with the latest driver from AMD it is jittery. Seems to be hard choice between the two jitteyr or command centre.

Was wondering if anyone notice the same above or different views.

Well I'm definetely NOT going through reinstalling Vista (again) to get Command Centre running-it's not quite THAT big of an issue although it is annoying.

By 'jittery' are you explaining the stuttering issue that nearly all quad core M17 owners have reported?

For me not at all. Graphics aren't a problem.

yes that seems to be the case, I must admit that it stops after the game has been on for a hour or more. It might just a paste issue. Glad you dont have that issue. However wehn i was running Windows 7 and the same game for a couple of days, i dont remember having that issue at all.

Unless your gaming grinds slowly to a halt with frame rates dropping from 60fps to 10fps over a few seconds with sounds turning scratchy afterwards, this is not the stuttering issue. I've not heard of anyone with a dual-core actually have the aforementioned stuttering problems.

Jittery usually means "shaky" graphics left to right or up/down which isn't the case with the quad core stutter, the graphics remain in tact but skips frames repeatedly causing significant fps drops in game.

it seems to only happens in full mode, whereas the windows mode at 1920 x 1200 seems fine. However when i run a mission with multiple targets I experience lag, so it could be the dual graphics are getting hot and they slow down. Other players have not experience lag, so it could be the graphics card or the broadband which sometimes can slow down.
