I'm running the 130D keyboard bios right now but Marvie100 says that 130E is meant to make the keyboard brighter. How do I update to it? I've searched and searched and can't find anything on how to update it.

    Thanks in advance!

Erm, yeah...I know nothing about updating any kind of bios. Do I burn it to a disk, set to boot from the disk drive, and then boot it? Then what?

And where is the 130E iso on their site? could you provide a link? thanks.

Hi EvilC....I downloaded this update last month from "MyHive" and just burt it to disk using magicISO then run the disk....click on "view files" snd it gives you a little simple guide.
All you do is install the DVD with the iso on it and reboot your PC. That short Alienware guide says you may have to change the boot device order but I never have had to so far.
Also, this update did not make my keyboard any brighter!! I think the Moo said the same thing....still worth having though!

    good luck.

yeah you can only get it from "my Hive" I believe. But some guys upload these updates to Rapidshare for the guys with un-supported notebooks.

There is no way this could be screwed up. Unless ur keyboard is broken in some way.

Mine appears to be a little brighter after the flash but not really by much. I can't tell too well though, can't remember exactly how bright the old one was... :p

My impression after flashing would be more around the line of .. Hey nothing changed :p Can't tell if they are brighter or not. Might just have been the lighting in my room or somthing being slightly lower.

Are the AW keyboards brighter than the whitebook ones? Or do they at least offer that appearance due to the wider font of the letters and the perimeter being back lit as well?

I am interested in upgrading my whitebook to an AW keyboard as the back light on my whitebook keyboard really is to dim to be practical.

oh well I can say for sure scook that the M17 keyboard lighting is not too dim to be practical...its very useful and practical for typing in low light, especially the green colour....this is the brightest by far IMHO.

I agree, green gives the best lighting. But keep in mind that I have the whitebook, AW may have a more powerful back light in their version. And would you say that the rim around each key helps with the visibility - due to more light coming through?
