I stick with Corsair for RAM, excellent quality and good customer service. Other brands to consider if Corsair is not available: OCZ, Kingston, Crucial.

Intel SSDs are the fastest but also expensive.
See this thread for SSD info:

I've moved away from the M17. Now I'm on to the OCZ 840. So no matte and sans alien head for me.

I'm saving near a thousand(this was a mistake, read below) dollars.
I'm not paying a CA sales tax.
    Shipping is only 35.
Proven better Tech and Customer Support.

I lose out on a slightly sturdier lid. Alienhead light. Matte finish (my laptop now has the same finish the 840 does, I deal with the fingerprints and scratches.)

I forgot I went with the SSD in my initial AW build. Just did a build comparison.
I'm saving $300 on the build by going with the 840, that's before taxes and shipping.
I still end up with a good savings, clearing $600. I also get 3yr. warranty.

I do want to thank everyone that posted. You all helped me reach an informed decision that does not extend my financial restraints any more than I have to, as well hopefully subsiding any buyer's remorse.
