I was going to put this in the other Topic Freezing during gaming but Differnt gpu GF 9800 and differnt machine Frist Gen. M17x

Basicly I had the same issue as the Newer Verson of M17x with the dual gf260 or gf280. But I have dual 9800gt and running windows vista 32bit with the laptopvideo2go 185.66 Geforce Drivers.

I could be playing for 15min to 6 Hours and then get a Video Card Hardware Error. Or play for 8 Hours a day for 8 days and Have no Issue at all.

I talk to Alienware Tech and he wanted me to change back to Alienware Drivers. M17X_VGA_NVIDIA_176.10. But when I play the game now the Fans are Louder and the temps are higher. And in combat or moving around in Lord of the Rings Mine of Moria I get Grapics Lag. 1 or 2 seconds and it dont matter if it in combat or just moving point a to point b.

When I ue the drivers 185.66 geforce Drivers I had a arg of 61.7fps with a few 40fps. That in or out of combat.

Temps with Alienware drivers In game 95c 90c
Temps with Alienware drivers doing nothing 73c 63c

I only have the temps for the 185.66 geforce drivers while the Alienware tech explaining I was useing desktop drivers modified to run with a laptop.
    55c and 60c.

Dates I had issues on are

Ok the ones with the * I been playing for 2 Hours or Longer like the 5am one I played 6 hours and then the Video Hardware error would show up.

Well I would say it's a driver issue .... Did you uninstall then run driver sweeper ?

Yep. But I have to say the Alienware Drivers Suck. But useing them to see if the Video card hardware error shows up again.

Well I was going to wait 8 more days then go back to a newer driver. Just to see if I get that error.

But can I ask which Drivers I should try after the 8 days?

The other question which setting are you talking about on the GPU or Game?

To be safe when you change back to the new driver:

    1. Uninstall current drivers from Device Manager for both cards (check the delete driver software box)
    2. Reboot into safe mode
    3. Make sure in Device Manager that you have 'Standard VGA Device' or something like that (can't remember exactly what it is)
    4. Run Driver Sweeper and get rid of any remaining traces of the nVidia driver. Close it, then run it again to check.
    5. Reboot.
    6. Install new drivers.
    7. Reboot.
    8. Play!

Well did some Stress test with FurMark. 105c. Then turn off the FurMark. Running the game staying in one spot it 100c. So what I think happening is when I play the game it runs around 105 to 108 while moving around and I get a few 110c which is why the Video gpu error happens and the game skipping. My House temp is 19c 66f Night time. Day time it around 25c to 77f.
