    Hi

I consider buying M17x not only for gaming reasons but also I'd like to play and edit my 1080i movies from HD camcorder Canon HG20. My XPS m1710 is not enough for AVCHD, so I'm thinking to buy M17x with QX9300 and
gtx 260m sli. I would be very gratefull if the owners of M17x with qx9300 could test playing 1080i material, even more, maybe you could try to edit
m2ts/mts files (AVCHD file format) and tell about speed and quality.

Good luck finding that combination; since the overwhelming interest for the M17x here, is solely for gaming. Nevertheless, I too would be interested in getting more data on the M17x as an multimedia editing platform. Especially since, so far, no one has used/tested it in that way.

I can however confirm that--component wise--the M17x should be more then capable of standing up to any editing chores you might want to throw at it. Just make sure you go with the quad core CPU, as many updated editing software are designed specifically to take advantage of that configuration.
