I was wondering about the box content myself. Alienware used to include a fair amount of goodies with their products, but I don't know about the m17x. As for the touch buttons, their just touch sensitive buttons that control various system functions, like volume for instance. Nothing special really, just "buttons" that you touch rather than push down.

    Hi,
The official box content is as follows:

    3. Alienware Mousepad
    4. Alienware Baseball Hat
    5. Alienware Stickers
    6. Alienware Cloth Bag
    7. Alienware Carrying Case (I'm guessing this was removed)

    Gabe

Hi Gabe. You said you guess the carrying case was removed. I did not know they were even thinking of giving one out. Could you get any further confirmation on that? I would love to know! Thanks! :)

I didn't detect any sarcasm so I hope you're joking.

Of course it comes with a charger, the things listed are just the extra accessories. On a side note, the M17x's charger is actually quite compact and runs pretty cool. Dell/Alienware wanted to break the trend of gaming laptops having gigantic power bricks.

    To quote NBR:
Here's a picture of the new power brick compared to a PC game box:

the bag became optional too. i already bought myself a 17" laptop backpack 8-9 months ago for the gaming rig i planned on buying then.

i don't mind/don't care about the bag coz i would've either trashed it or given it to someone who wants one. otherwise, i've to lug it around wherever i go. (i travel, it's not that awesome.)
