I haven't had any issues using Win 7 on the m17x...no freezing, no performance hits, zilch. I have been using the machine as a desktop and have had a G5 USB mouse plugged in all the time.

When I put the machine to sleep, and wake it up the track pad doesn't work until I log back in using a mouse. When I use a mouse to click on my login name, and then enter the password...it logs back in and then the track pad will work again. Doesnt matter if I put it to sleep with the mouse plugged in or unplugged. Anytime I wake it up, the track pad doesnt work until I log back in and then it loads the drivers.

This is Windows 7 64 bit Pro. I tried looking for updated Synapses drivers but to no avail...no idea what the heck is up with that.

    Any ideas?

So far the easy work around is just to alt/tab to the log in button (by default the selected app was the alienware camera software), select my acct, enter passwd and then I get the track pad. So I can still get in after waking the machine without a mouse.

Im still curious what's up with the trackpad not waking from sleep until successful login.

Does Fn +F12 make it work?
