    wassup ya'll,

whenever I enable SLI and try to play a DVD, my machine either freezes up or crashes, is this a known issue???

it plays DVD's fine when SLI is disabled. I've tried WMP, PowerDVD 8 & Winamp and the result is the same.

since playing a movie has a fixed frame rate, setting up an SLI profile for playback software will not help it play any smoother or faster (or get any more fps in other words). you can keep SLI on, just open up your nvidia control panel and click on the playback software (powerdvd 8 etc.) under custom/manage SLI profiles and select single card.

No, I've had no probs playing DVDs while SLI is enabled....don't get any special performance out of it, but doesn't crash or freeze up....

I was saying you can still have SLI enabled. you just need to go into the nvidia control panel> manage 3D setting > select program, and make sure powerdvd or whatever has single GPU under the SLI performance option.
