    Buon giorno.

    Anyone know how expresscard SSD's compare to their 2.5" counterparts, and are they worthwhile?

    Currently looking at them as an alternative to buying a normal SSD so I would be able to keep my current hard drives in use as storage (config in sig) and move Windows & games to the ExpressCard. Having a hard time finding reviews on the current generation of these SSD's which is hampering my decision!

    All help appreciated!

    ExpressCard will be the most popular choice for end-user SSD notebook upgrades. The reasons?
    * there's less to go wrong, and
    * the whole process is quicker

    The main disadvantage of ExpressCard SSDs is that they are nearly always much slower than the available alternatives.

    Alternative being:
    * 1.8" SSDs,
    * 2.5" SSDs and
    * 1.0" SSDs - which also includes motherboard soldered SSD chips and modules.

    All three sizes of SSD fit in the M17x right?

    Granted they won't be as good as the proper SSD's, but is there much of a difference? And are they much better than 2x7200rpm drives in RAID 0?
