Hello everyone I have had a MAJOR conflict with my tablet and the new m17x. Let me explain:
I recently purchased a Bamboo tablet (a WACOM product) for some light graphic design in photoshop.
When I start my m17x with just the 9400M graphics card running I have no issues. It works correctly and accepts input, does handwritting recognition, etc.
However, when I start the computer with my SLI 280M GPU's enabled I have major issues. First off my windows load time goes from about 30 seconds (with the cards off) to about 5 minutes. Once I am started up my pen/tablet eventually stops responding and my mouse starts stuttering when its moved (like theres a memory leak?). I cntrl+alt+delete the windows VistA process that has stopped responding (called wisptis.exe in the process list) and then restart the service. When I restart the service my computer slows to a crawl again (and mouse stuttering continues).
I have tried redoing driver installation on the tablet.
I have tried updating the driver for the tablet to WACOM's newest release.
I have tried redoing factory default drivers from alienware for my graphics cards.
I have done a disc format and reinstalled windows.
I have tried enabling and disabling all the pen/tablet related services that come as a part of windows VistA.
Anyone have ideas?
Basically it can be one of 3 things:
1. Windows VistA doesnt support my 280M/SLI setup with their tablet services?
a. wisptis.exe runs as a result of the pen/ink services in VistA. Control+Alt+Delete and ending the process speeds my computer back up but also removes most of the important functionality i want from my pen/tablet (basically it becomes a mouse)
2. Alienwares drivers conflict with the tablet/VistA service when the 280's/SLI are enabled?
3. WACOM's driver doesnt support my graphics configuration?
Anyone have a tablet out there and have any issues? I cant be the only one doing graphic design on this machine.
Any suggestions and input to help troubleshoot the issue would be phenomenal.
If you have any questions I will do my best to field them.
Cheers.
