i was wondering can i plug in my PS3 and use my screen as a monitor ??

Pretty sure you cant. All the video ports are output and not input.
-
There a a billion different types of video input devices that you can buy that would plug into the usb/firewire/expresscard slot.
Most of them are meant for video capturing, but you would just be using it as a input. You can spend anywhere from $15 to $20,000+ depending on the quality and type of input you would want to use.
So yes you can, just not with what came with the computer. -
You should be able to use this device to accomplish what you want:
Video Input Adapter USB
There is a software out there then that can convert the video input into a video feed that can be displayed live on your laptop monitor. I am looking for it, will post when I find it. -
NICE ! thanks for your help!

Would be nice if it had component... but nice find.

This device is compatible only with the 32-bit version of vista, and the m17x uses the 64 bit.
-
Yes that is true but I am sure a similar device exist for a 64 bit version maybe even just a software update.
M17x - Can you use it as a monitor ??
