I wanted to reduce the performances of my machine on the battery when I chose “Power saved” on power management. And then I had the problem: My machine stopped abruptly. I connected the AC Adapter and I switched on the machine.
I Checked on power management and I found that change was no saved. I changed it without any problem with AC.
Have you any idea about that problem ?

You should switch to integrated graphics ([Fn] + [F7]) and turn on Stealth Mode (the last touch button on the right) to save the most power. Also use the Power Saver profile in Vista. I don't know how you encountered the problem with the power saving mode . . . it might have been a one-time thing.

You know, i never understood that. What is the difference between using fn+f7 to switch from integrated graphics to discrete versus using "stealth mode"?
    Can someone explain the difference?
The whole Alienware scene is still new to me. :p

Running on stealth mode, you are still running on your dedicated graphic card/s but the GPU and CPU are trotlled down, to save energy

you have the option which allows to activate and to deactivate the SLI option (Task bar )They have puts power saved and hight performance
    --Power saved: SLI deactivated
    --Hight performance: SLI activated
I know there is no relation with what i’m talking about and the options on power management but I think that we can never use the option SLI with power saved option .
