on both Dell EPP and Dell.com, the configuration for the M17x does not seem to be offering 1333mhz ram. I'm glad I ordered when I did I suppose. It'll be back someday I'm sure.

Doesn't matter, the best RAM for the M17X as mentioned and tested by Mandrake the is the Kingston HyperX 1333mhz which you can get for about $120.00 from newegg.

I was told when they nicely canceled my order a day ago, that they had issues with the 1333 memory so they were no longer going to offer it until they got it sorted out. So I, like many others on here had to deal with the canceled order after 2 weeks of waiting, only to have them redo my order. The rep wasn't clear on what the "issues" were however. The memory problem was the reason they gave me for canceling my order..I don't know how accurate that was (as I also had the bad DVD sku which was also addressed), but for those who are currently "In Production" with 1333 memory, you might want to call and confirm, or you might get your order delayed by 6 weeks like I did. But I'm not bitter or anything ;-)

The option for 1333 is still there once you change the CPU config from the default one on the site to a i7 720 it also might be available for some of the other high end dual cores i didnt bother checking that far... I made the same mistake before :)

Yes, since the memory controller is now built into the proc, your proc has specific memory it supports.

I order on January 16th. Core I7 720QM 4GB DDR 1333MHZ, WUXGA RGB LED, Dual 1GB 4870 Crossfire..etc. On Feb 2nd, they canceled my order without warning, so I called them to figure out what was going on. The sales rep (the one from Austin) told me that there was a problem with multiple SKU's on my order. One being the dreaded DVD drive (now showing as quick silver on my order) and the other he stated was that they were no longer offering the 1333 memory on any M17X due to some problems they've been encountering with it in manufacturing (again, don't know specifically what problems there were having). He canceled my order and redid it with the 1066 memory and corrected the DVD-Rom SKU, which pushed my original delivery date from February 4th (today..sniff sniff), to February 19th. So this has been on-going with me since the 16th of January. I do realize that a lot of you are in the same boat with the DVD SKU issue, so my sympathies go out to all of you. If any of you hear any different regarding the 1333 memory, I'd be curious.

Now I am freakin scared !! My order have a 6GB DDR3 1333MHz memory, just called my rep when I saw your post, he checked and said that so far, no problem were reported. I checked the website, both Canada (where I live) and USA, and both still offer 1333MHz memory, so where did you see they dont offer it anymore ? or was that for the dual cores ?

Hey guys, sorry didn't mean to freak anyone out. Not sure where my rep got his details, or maybe he wasn't sure why it was cancelled and just redid the order to be safe.
