Hey guys, just wanna share this to those who're interested I've recently seen this driver's link posted on mydigitallife.com's comment session.
    http://www.station-drivers.com/tele...uchpad_15.0.10.0(www.station-drivers.com).exe
I've installed the driver and tested for a day, apparently the 'multitouch' function is unlocked for the M17x using it. Although M17x's touchpad sucks, its sitll good to have added features^^.

it will work for any synaptics touchpad i think.
Heah, could you do me a favor :
go to mouse in control panel, device settings and check if there's an option to disable the touchpad when an external mice is present ?

    Hi!

I tried (on my M15X) some Multitouch Synaptics drivers posted on the forum a while ago. While multitouch was great, the general feeling was pretty bad because of 2 things:
    - It felt just like the factory drivers: lag and stuff.
    - With the default windows drivers, if you move faster, the cursor will travel further than if you move your finger slowly. It's very convenient as it gives you speed or precision whenever you need it. The synaptics drivers didn't have that, and moving the cursor from one side of the screen to the other often required 2 "swipes".

Does this driver have the same "issues"? If not, i'll definitely give it a try!!

windows driver is currently the best option if you're using the trackpad. every driver that came out from dell/synaptics is crap - the touchpad is almost unusable with it.

Yeah, the Synaptics drivers are absolutely terrible. I have tried on many different occasions to use them because of the palm check feature, but I just can't do it, they are too terrible. Windows drivers are much better, only problem is it is hard to do a lot of typing because your palm will hit the touchpad and move/click the cursor where/when you don't want.

IMO this laptop has a terrible touchpad overall.
