After receiving a Targus universal 70W AC adapter from Dell as an extra AC adapter for the M17x I have on order  (what a bunch of morons at sales)....

I called Alienware directly and they pointed me to this: http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/Power/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&cs=04&sku=330-4128

Since I don't have my lappy yet, is this the correct one? I was told the Alienware was 240W and this one shows 210. I need an extra one for the office since I don't want to carry it each time.

    thx

The one listed is incorrect. You want the following:

    Part# 5120P (Cord, Power, 125v, 6 Feet, Unshielded)
Part# J211H (ADAPTER, ALTERNATING CURRENT, EXTERNAL, 240W, DELTA, 3P, WORLD WIDE)

Call Dell and tell them you would like to order this. They may tell you its a refurbished item, tell them its ok. Its going to be a new adapter and cord, they have to say its refurbished though (since its repackaged). This is the correct AC Adapter you need.

The 210w is not going to cut it. Dell really needs to fix that.

Ha! This is a perfect issue for me to help you. OK, I ordered that adapter, the 210W they listed. But, what I received was the 240W adapter that comes with the M17x, the exact model, the J211H.

Doesn't mean will happen for you as well, but something to consider....
