I stear everyone clear away from Dell and Failenware. The price you pay for a Failenware clearly isn't worth it. Dell has ruined the name. I've suggested the new ASUS gaming laptop to 3 different people who have all bought them and love them for half the price of a Failenware. Wish I had done the same..

You can still sell yours and get at least $1600. Enough for that Asus G73 (which looks awesome by the way).

I hope to be one of those new folks. I think the refresh will be a bit less than hoped. My guess is the i7 CPU without anything like a RGB screen, but I can still hope.

    Guys,

Just spoke with Nagshead, the only Alienware rep still here in the forums...

He indicated that the M17x update is ready and he would be posting additional information for us shortly...

Lets hope this fixes issues we're all having and not brick our laptops.

Believe me there are a lot of employees here, I can name a couple. Some don't want to be associated as such because customer service isn't their job.

Sorry but to me the M17x is still the superior laptop. Your obviously not aware of the multitude of problems previous ASUS laptops have had not to mention reliability.

    All,

Just been informed by the engineer that A03 BIOS is externally promoted and it should be live on the support site in a couple of hours.

Thanks for your patience on this issue. In addition to the A03 BIOS, it's important you are using the latest wireless driver that is on the support site.

This solution should address the majority of customers. While you may still see some red bars on the DPC latency tester, the end experience from audio and video playback is greatly improved, if not altogether fixed.

Engineering is still working and following customer feedback very closely on this issue. I look forward to reading everyone's results.

It takes time for it to go live on the servers, hopefully within the hour. I'm waiting along with the rest of you at this point to see it posted, but I have high confidence it will be there tonight.

    Nagshead,

Just a clarification... Is there a NEW wireless driver as well or are we just to use the latest one?

Use the one posted or the one that came installed on your system. There's not a new wireless driver for this.

    nagshead:

Any chance you can share the change details in regards to DPC Latency? Most of the M17x owners are interested in understanding what the Engineering team found and adjusted with this BIOS release. The A03 text doc included with the BIOS does not specify.

Thanks again for supporting us here on NBR.
