    OK,

To help out with recent problems i would like to make this thread to gather info about the BIOS and try to find ways to mod it and help out with the voltage.

Check n see what can be changed ETC.

This is not my specialty but i know there are people here who can look and help.

So please help out with editing and i personally would like some info on how to do it what programs to use ETC

Didn't Zfactor have a very expensive "borrowed" tool to read and change a bios?

TBH trying via software looks the way to go :p ... Editing bios doesn't looks much viable IMHO :p .

Bios fusion ftw? lol Im sure you can edit certain lines in the bios, i think i saw it on the asus forum some time ago, but im pretty sure you can change things.

Does anyone know what the m17x is currently operating at (power wise?) and how much available power it has remaining? If its locked prehaps there is a reason for that.

How come we didnt hear from you when we needed someone for the M17 bios voltages..

Its also possible the m17x is at its limit with the power distribution.. it was so with the m17 at least.. flex told us it was already at its max power there (1,313V for the m17 i believe)..

It wouldnt suprise me if its at peek distribution again, but who knows. It wouldn't seem it though (altho how they get the power pack mighty small suprises me.)

Is there a possibility to mod the BIOS to have all the fans running at 100% all the time (or at least when plugged in)? And no, noise isn't an issue, I used to it from my desktop (I've got the fans running on 100% all the time on CPU cooler, various fans and video cards) and miss it on my laptop anyway. I just want to keep it as cool as possible, especially when I game outside in the sun in the summer when it's really hot like these days.

So did anyone got any head way on this yet? I am also very curious to see if we can increase the voltage to the CPU and OC it a bit further...

My P8600 is @ it's current max stable FSB F of 1337MHz... (~3.06 GHz I believe) and I am still waiting on my ES QX9300

it seems the voltage is almost maxed out.

the extreme cpu's has the max voltage but the non EX CPU could get a boost but the max Vcore this will put out is 1.35v

I don't remember what my Vcore is with this OC but I am pretty sure it is not 1.35V

The M17x uses a Phoenix BIOS so your help will be very useful!

    Please don't kill me :).

Depending on the direction of the fans, they can suck dust into the system..

So do you think there's no hope of increasing the voltage in the system. :(

I don't think it would be very good...it is a laptop so it already runs fairly hot, if you increase the voltage and it gets even hotter bad things could happen..

I mean physically it's pushing it's limits ... The quads don't have as much voltage as a dual like in the w90p :p

But they made it that way for safety reasons. .... I guess

I would love to be able to control fan speed (set max or auto maybe?).
Would also love to be able to control voltages. This is one simpleton BIOS. I hate it so bad I could on the creator... aCk!!!
